Solution

Uninstall LiveUpdate and Symantec Endpoint Protection

2000/2003/XP

• Open the Control Panel
• Double-click on Add or Remove Programs
• Select the program you desire
• Click the Change/Remove button
• Follow the prompts

Vista/2008/7

• Open the Control Panel
• Double-click on Programs and Features
• Select the program you desire
• Click the Uninstall/Change button
• Follow the prompts

Delete the following Symantec directories, if present:

2000/2003/XP
C:\Program Files\Symantec
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec

Vista/2008/7
C:\Program Files\Symantec
C:\Users\All Users\Symantec\ (Vista)
C:\Program Data\Symantec\ (Windows 2008, Windows 7)

Reboot

Install LiveUpdate

Install Symantec Endpoint Protection
